Neighborhood Housing
The CASL permanent supportive housing model is innovative in the industry, coupling housing with case management services. CASL case managers and our nonprofit partners ensure that clients have access to suitable medical and mental health care, financial assistance, and educational and career-focused resources to help them achieve their individual life goals. CASL conducts regular inspections to ensure homes are safe and clean.
Serving adults with either:
- a mental health diagnosis who may have a history of incarceration and substance abuse due to a mental health diagnosis
- Intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) residents can bring their own Medicaid-waiver service support
The living spaces we offer:
- Individual bedrooms in shared two to four-bedroom neighborhood homes
- One and two-bedroom units in apartment/condos
By sharing a home with peers, we believe individual residents can build a strong social network and, in turn, maximize their independence. Many residents are eligible for rental assistance due to limited income. The food and rental assistance help curb some of the anxiety of living independently. Prior to CASL, the homeless and/or disabled were housed in jails, shelters, state hospitals, and other acute care systems. With a safe home and wrap-around supports, the likelihood of stability increases dramatically.
CASL operates 70+ neighborhood homes and duplexes across Central and Southwest Florida.
